The Foundation was established in memory of Yolanda E. Williams to raise awareness about Triple Negative Ductal carcinoma in situ (Triple Negative D.C.I.S.) Breast Cancer and to raise funds to support research that is working towards finding a cure for Triple Negative D.C.I.S. Breast Cancer.

Yolanda passed away on June 17, 2011, after being diagnosed with Triple Negative D.C.I.S. Breast Cancer in June 2010. Through her journey, she wanted to raise awareness and education and from this, the Yolanda E. Williams Foundation was created by her husband Michael Williams to continue her fight to defeat Triple Negative D.C.I.S.

The Yolanda E. Williams Foundation’s Mission Statement:

To raise our communities’ awareness of breast cancer by reducing risk, early detection resulting in better outcomes, treatment, and the need for a reliable and permanent cure. To make a significant donation to the ongoing research of the Lester and Sue Smith Breast Cancer Center at The Baylor College of Medicine.

The Yolanda E. Williams Foundation’s Vision Statement:

To see an increase in the number of survivors of Triple Negative D.C.I.S. (Ductal Carcinoma In Situ) breast cancer. To help fund finding a cure for Triple Negative D.C.I.S. (Ductal Carcinoma In Situ) breast cancer.
